Page 114 of Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?
Think I may be able to work out why...
Had the call to be jabbed, so all booked in for Monday morning...
A 1% pay rise for NHS staff.
My new Flash Fiction blog. All my own work
I am not young enough to know everything.
It's not suprising, but it's depressing and a huge kick in the teeth for people who have put themselves on the frontline of this pandemic day after day.
I hope Boris and co don't have the gaul to suggest anymore clapping for the NHS, the hypocrisy of that would be of such a level it would create a spontaneous black hole that swallowed what is left of their souls.
To quote David Schneider:
WHAT THERE IS MONEY FOR:
£22bn on failed Test & Trace
£16bn on bombs & guns
£billions to pals for dodgy PPE etc
£200bn+ on Brexit
£7k a day for consultants
£370k to cover Priti Patel bullying
WHAT THERE ISN'T MONEY FOR:
A proper pay rise for NHS staff

Yes our government is corrupt, and yes it lies to us knowingly:
The prime minister had claimed that the contracts, which are subject to a legal challenge and cronyism allegations, were “there on the record for everybody to see”.
But a final order handed down by the High Court on Friday says the government had in fact only published “608 out of 708 relevant contracts”.
The order, by judge Mr Justice Chamberlain says: “The Defendant has published 608 out of 708 relevant contracts for supplies and services relating to COVID-19 awarded on or before 7 October 2020.
From the people that brought you a Brexit bus which implied instead of sending £350m to the EU a week, they could fund the NHS instead, but you know, not actually much.
Let's just insult people who risked and continue to risk their lives for us.
One day we will get a government that really cares, and doesn't do things like equip our NHS workers with poor quality PPE that they can't even use, reminds me of the armed forces we sent to Iraq also without the right equipment.

missus us getting her jab on Wednesday, I've not heard yet, but I picked up some tests from nearby clinic, as was recommended for parents with school kids, you have to swab back of throat and up nose, put it in solution and wait for a bit. I'm going to do it later when everyone is in bed, not looking forward to trying to do the kids, could be a case of one us pinning them down while other administers :(
A friend who did her kids said one is ok, the other always says inconclusive.
