OK Guys... just to let you know I downloaded 2.23 and everything was
fine again... just like you said it would be!
But to re-iterate my original gripe:-
COULD YOU GUYS PLEASE STICK A README IN THE .ZIP FILES?
Its all very well having about 10 files all called tdvd-000.blah on yer
hard drive but if you dont know if it is korean only / non-vhs friendly /
NTSC only then people are gonna end up in the same situation as I had...
Again, thanks for all the help and info... I would have been totally stuck
without your help...
Bye for now!
Well anyhow (inbetween the banter) I have reflashed with 2.23 and
my scan is now much better (and VCR freindly (yay!))
I know the Scan is a bit s*** but I only bought it so I could lazily
watch DVD`s & listen to MP3`s whilst rotting away in bed...
On the other hand I do have a SONY DVP 735s downstairs and that seems to be the b*llocks (BRAG!)
Anyhow... I go back to my original gripe and that is:-
PLEASE PUT README FILES IN ALONG SIDE THE FIRMWARE
IN THE ZIPS ... I HAVE TWO VERSIONS OF 2.23 ONE OF WHICH
IS THE ORIGINAL KOREAN VERSION AND ONE IS THE VERSION
THAT SCAN HAS HAD THE HEX EDITOR ON (OR WHATEVER THEY
There ya go guys, and thanks again for all the info..
OK... thanks for the help and info guys... I will give 2.23 a whirl and
let you know what happens...
I was a little surprised to see no readme file in the distribution
of the FW files...
It looks like I have been a bit of a lab rat here...
Maybe it would be an idea to include a little readme in the .zip
of the FW files?
thanks again for all the help guys...
Being Mr Clever clogs and reading about all the people that have
upgraded the bios on their Scan SC2000`s I decided to give it a go...
I reflashed with several versions (from NVIS), some of which only had NTSC/MULTI output and no PAL (No good for me I`m afraid) and the final one (2.27) that I am using now will not let me change the region code...
I can only think of three reasons for this
1. I am stupid and cannot press the buttons properly (not likely)
2. This version doesnt let you change the region code
3. I`ve somehow broken it
I`ve only had the player two days so as you can imagine I am pretty
I started with version 2.07 so basically I would appreciate any links
to sites with different versions (2.07 would be good!) as I am fresh
out of ideas as to what to do next.
The only reason I reflashed in the first place was so I could use the
player in my bedroom though my VHS recorder into my ancient RF only
(non 60hz) TV...
Its all gone horribly wrong!
Thanks in advance for any help
