On whether the officials explained the decisions…
That’s not how communication with officials works, I wish it worked like that. That is where we have a couple of issues. First of all is that VAR is only introduced in the quarter-finals, I don’t know whether the VAR referee has ever used VAR. Secondly, goal line technology is something you can use at this stage of the competition but it’s not compulsory. Today, it was not in use. Because Bayern Munich choose not to pay for it. Next week at the Emirates Arsenal chooses to pay for it because we think that’s the right thing to do to ensure a fair competition. It is a problem for the competition that not every game has the same level of technology in helping the officials take the right decisions.
On when he found out that Bayern weren’t using GLT…
Yesterday. You have to accept, it is not Bayern’s fault, it is within their right to make the decision. We can all agree that it is very weird that you play in a level of a competition and it comes down to the hosting club if they are going to fund the technology that is being used by both teams.
On whether there is a temptation to not use GLT next week…
It’s not about that, it is not what is important for us, we want to win the right way. Everyone might benefit from goal line technology to know whether the ball is in or not. It is so hard for the referee to see or not. The players deserve to get that level of detail and accuracy.

That should have been at minimum a draw.
At least one penalty possibly two denied.
Lousy refereeing.
Off side given against us when Blackstenius was at least two yards onside. Where was VAR?
From our side of things I thought there should be a few more first time strikes.
Seemed to me wanting that extra touch denied us a few decent chances.

Well that was a pleasant afternoon, after we'd let them bounce one off the post and Ramsdale's back early on.
Thought Holding slotted in and did well for his first start coming in for Saliba.
I gather Saliba is just a back spasm but Tommy may be out for a while, quite often happens with those over extension injuries.
Eight points clear going into an international break with just 10 matches left.
Keep dreaming. 🙂
Edit: Just popped up from the club

***k
Had an overwhelming feeling of inevitability for the entire match.
Keeper playing out of his skin the entire match
'Nayim from the halfway line'
Was only half watching the penalties as I was convinced of the outcome.
Can only hope the physical and mental damage from the match doesn't screw up the league.
I guess we'll know on Sunday.

Not normally bothered about this a**e kissing back slapping fest but an interesting piece on the fight scenes in EEAAO
No problem with the acting Oscars for it but I thought the actual movie fell a bit short for best film.

Two fairly easy wins.
Fulham was supposed to be far more difficult than that.
Nice to see Jesus back on the pitch and looking ready for it.
I doubt he'll start against Sporting but I'd expect him to get at least 30 mins plus.
Their player, Robinson I think, will be having nightmares over Martinelli's goal. He actually ducked out of the way rather than challenged for the ball.
4.0 win for AWFC including a goal for Leah Williamson which she obviously enjoyed enormously. They seem to have found a way to play without Viv and Beth but probably a bit too late to win the league.

I think it's far more likely Sharp will go.
I don't see Lineker backing down and if the Beeb won't move we'll see Game Of The Day on a different station. Then we'll see how many Pundits and commentators follow his exit.

I tend to read articles online from journos I follow on Twitter and articles linked to by other people I have time for, unless they're behind a paywall.

100% behind Lineker on this but even Pie continues the Attenborough error.
Explained here
Continuing to include the allegation that Attenborough is part of this harms the actual point being made.
Maybe Game Of The Day sometime soon on ITV or SKY.

"Oh my. Maybe they only had two HD cameras and they had to save them for VAR"
No VAR at any Women's WSL match to my knowledge.
At the Boreham Wood Ground, AWFC's home pitch, the single camera has no cover and is sighted so that the near touchline is obscured by, I'm guessing, the roof it stands on. The goal to it's right regularly draws camera flare from the floodlights that end of the pitch.
Only a fan of AWFC or Liverpool FC Women would have put themselves through watching that. If they're trying to grow the women's game that ain't the way to do it.

Correct.
They are broadcasting highlights with no presenters or links.
Massively shot themselves in the foot giving this government it's wet dream of a BBC with a ruined reputation.
The boss gets away with being a Tory donor and easing Johnson into an £800,000 loan but correctly pointing out a parallel to 1930s Germany gets you the sack.

RE: [VIDEO] Arsenal 22/23 Season
At least Jonas picked up on this as the broadcast was atrocious and the fact they don't even have cover over a single camera is awful.
Took a couple of screenshots
It really was that bad and the cameraman's hand appeared regularly trying to wipe the lens even though he/she was obviously also doing it when replays were running as well.

RE: [VIDEO] Arsenal 22/23 Season
Wasn't bad and we improved after a few subs but to be fair nobody was atrocious just the likes of Kiwior and Turner in goal were mentioned due to lack of on pitch time.
In the end it will depend how serious we're taking the competition.
Apparently Jesus was playing in the warm down match after Bournemouth so he might even feature on the bench.

Well that's no more than we deserved.
Should be able to finish that of at the home leg providing we start with a slightly stronger squad.
2.2 thanks to Morita.

Good win for AWFC last night.
For reasons known only to themselves Liverpool only decided to play the second half. Surprised Zinsberger wasn't off at half time with hypothermia.
They made a better effort then but a fairly easy 2.0 win in the end.
Sporting Lisbon tonight and I really don't know what to expect from them.
Paddy Power reckon 1.1 or a 1.0 win for us.
I think we're capable of better but depending on how much the squad is rotated.

Surprised at how instantly you were into it with no sense of where your feet and the actual walls were
