RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

have to say 'it's lost on me'... really cant see any future in this current format!

RE: Duane Eddy RIP

RIP... a little before my time, but I do remember a collaboration with the Art of Noise

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Par Mizan says...
"Colin Baker years....Never did like that actor, too smamy a smile and very poor scripts over his seasons. Remember hearing he only took on the Doctors role for the money, and going by his acting I am assuming that was true."

Colin Baker, was far more convincing as Bayban the Butcher/Berserker... a great performance in Blakes 7

RE: Just a little jog

I've done a 1/2 marathon distance once... that was enough for me, a few 10k's

much prefer the road bike, as less impact on my knees!

RE: My Coin Collection (ish)

Only about £1000 for a 1oz coin over the odds for price of gold today, certainly not an investment for the metal content!

RE: Valentines Present ;-)

Sadly they cancelled the order... along with hundreds of others, apparently a misprice?

I expect the new apprentice IT Tech guy, in charge of website updates, took a real shoeing on the Monday morning when the boss arrived!

Sadly a meal out was the the real cost!

RE: Record Store Day 2021

a few there I like the sound of, having only really got back into Vinyl 12 months ago properly... could be an expensive April!

Def Leppard - live at Leadmill

Emma Bunton - A girl like me (love the CD, have this in the car for long drives)... yes its an old car it has a cd player!

Everything But The Girl - At Maida Vale

Motorhead - Remorse? No!

U2 - Atomic City, Live from Sphere

RE: Steve Wright :( afternoon over

Wow, I really didn't see that one coming!

Valentines Present ;-)

Leisure Range Ceramic 100 cm Electric Cooker CK100C210S - Silver - A Rated | Freemans

Seems like it may be a mis-price, but they have a number of Leisure Ranges massively reduced, if you are in the market worth a punt at £320, worst that can happen is they cancel

I have gone for Gas at £240!

RE: The King has cancer

As someone who has lost a parent, and grandparent to this disease, please get yourselves a PSA blood test from your GP, in the first instance.

RE: My (very) old, newest pickup

Seeing this thread pop up again, reminded me of a Radio Four (or as my children call it Grandad FM) programme I was listening to this week.

They were talking about Commodore, and how they really were the first home computer for games, how they really dominated the market, but then just disappeared, how there were was a real market offering options.

I seem to remember friends who were in the Sinclair camp, ZX80, ZX81 and then the Spectrum, whilst others were very much the Commodore first the Vic-20, then a quantum leap in technology with the C-64, the graphics and sound on this being far superior (IMHO).

There was the ubiquitous BBC Model B, available in a bunch of maybe six, in the school computer rooms, and then the Amstrad and early Apple and IBM which were more geared for business.

Me I loved the Texas Instruments TI-99, perhaps it was because of the cartridge loading option, like the games consoles from Atari, it seemed to bring that instant gratification of gaming, instead of waiting for an age for tape to load, only to find you had to do it again, as the tape just got caught up and twisted, or worse snapped.  I did eventually dabble in Speccy +2 (inbuilt tape) and +3 (in built floppy disc) consoles...

You really could back then go into the corner shop, who had a handful of tapes/games, and pick them up for pocket money prices, circa £1.99, perhaps saving a couple of weeks to buy it, or buying with a bestie.

oh' dear god, I now feel old, I need a cup of Horlicks and quiet room for an afternoon nap now!

Don't ring local force - log via Action Fraud

City of London Police deal with all reports

RE: [VIDEO] Criminal Record

I am no fan of Capaldi, (worst Doctor since Sylvester McCoy IMHO) but will give this a go...

RE: Klopp leaving at end of Season!!

Thought he would stay until Liverpool won the Premiership? ;-)

RE: Any home insurance recommendations?

Sadly this year that is not uncommon, my M&S cover doubled to nearly £700 and they took it direct, even though i cancelled the auto renewal.

I phoned them and got it back within 24 hours, but they just said that was best price they could offer... i think the best i found on comparison site was about £80 more than last years premium

RE: Any 3D Printer experts here??

is it a working model?

War of the Worlds

Found this over the Christmas period on Channel 5 catchup TV

My5 - War of the Worlds - Season 1 - Episode 1 / Episode 1 (

Binge watched my way through the whole of Season One, have to say it is brilliant, no big stars, lots of sub stories, and its a mixture of English/French with sub titles.

Doesn't follow the usual HG Wells plot, other than how it starts

Very much follows 'The Survivor' type scenario, and for my money other than Tabby McTat its been my highlight on the box over the festive period!

RE: Merry Christmas everyone!

Well that's my Christmas at work done, now off until the New Year... have fun and stay safe everyone, hopefully see you all on the other side!

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

well for my money.... the heels of the mother dropping baby Ruby off, are unmistakably 'Angie Watts', she hasn't had a good Christmas since 1986!

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

The only thing that will save the series for me is the new companion Ruby... didn't like all the song and dance nonsense!

RE: What Christmas movie will you be watching today ?

certainly was a Gremlins 2, The New Batch... was even a third instalment, due out this year?

A tortured soul, lived life to the fullest... RIP

RE: Why Google is cr*p

'Dog Pile' is also a useful search engine

RE: [VIDEO] The All New Doctor Who Thread...

Can't believe Rassilon hasn't made an appearance back on here to comment?

RE: [VIDEO] All The Light We Cannot See

Watched this yesterday... all four episodes back to back.

Have to say, this along with 'The Last of Us' are the two highlights of TV this year!

What a great storyline, so well acted, just brilliant!

Well done Netflix

RE: Christmas ads 2023

M&S having given in to the  'I'm offended by everything brigade', they have lost my £250+ Christmas food shopping this year!

They probably wont miss me, but I am sick of the pandering to the minority who actively seek out something to find offensive, even when there is nothing there!

Must be an 80's vibe with the tunes... as Waitrose is right up there 'Just can't get enough'
