A landmark movie in the film noir tradition, Roman Polanski’s Chinatown stands as a true screen classic.

Jack Nicholson is private eye Jake Gittes, living off the murky moral climate of sunbaked, pre-war Southern California. Hired by a beautiful socialite (Faye Dunaway) to investigate her husband’s extra-marital affair, Gittes is swept into a maelstrom of double dealings and deadly deceits, uncovering a web of personal and political scandals that come crashing together for one, unforgettable night in... Chinatown.

Co-starring film legend John Huston and featuring an Academy Award-winning script by Robert Towne, Chinatown captures a lost era in a masterfully woven movie that remains a timeless gem.

Jack Nicholson plays private eye Jack Grites, who has been hired by Faye Dunaway to investigate her husands extra-marital affair. Grites then discovers a web of mystery and political scandals in pre war Southern California.

Roman Polanski is an incredile and often underated film director. Chinatown is his masterpiece, and truly one of the greatest American motion pictures to date.

The film is comparable to `LA Confidential` in its feel and appearance. Although LA Confidential and other films of that genre deal with police corruption, political or your local gangster set-up. Chinatown suprises with its different approach to film noir and with an exellent script and acting provides an intelligent and entertaining story.
